DANCE AGENCY & MUSIC INDUSTRY WORKSHOP: April 12th We are excited to announce the return of top L.A./N.Y. agent Tony Selznick of MSA Associates. Mr. Selznick will hold a "Dance Agency AuditionWorkshop." Also added this year is a workshop "For Singers" with guest singer/teacher/song-writer/recording artists: Storm also from L.A. / DETAILS -Date: Saturday, April 12th -Time: Dance workshop 1:00-3:00 / Vocal/music workshop 3:00-5:00pm / for dancers and singers, pre-registration required. -5:00pm a special performance by Storm and special guest singers and dancers. -Place: Metro Arts studio & theater.
VOLUNTEERS: Open to anyone wishing to join our volunteer team for the 9th annual Celebration of Dance concert series. Meetings are set once a month starting in January ending in May. Any amount of volunteer time is appreciated and welcomed. You can volunteer between Jan-May or just the day of auditions, or tech day, on the rehearsal days or on concert days. Sign-up sheet and list of things to do will be handed out during the first meeting. To have your name added to our volunteer list please contact us by e-mail. First volunteer meet: Saturday, February 16th, must RSVP by email.
ADVERTISING & SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: We invite individuals and businesses to advertise in our 2008 concert program. The concert program will be handed out at all three concerts at all three venues (dates/venues listed above). For more information click here.
PRODUCTION WORK: Wanted freelance contractors: lighting designers, stage managers, assistant stage managers, concert program designer, publicists, website manager, and videographer/s. These are paid positions, however, we work with a limited budget, if your interested in joining our creative team for this concert series, please contact us (please note that bids need to be reasonable and affordable.) TO PERFORM: (2008 Auditions are complete, please submit your work for 2009 concerts, new info will be posted in December 2008) Dancers, teachers, choreographers, and performing companies/professional and non-professionals are invited to be part of this important national campaign. Your volunteer performance will be a valuable contribution to this nationwide mission and greatly appreciated. These concerts are also a great opportunity to feature your dancers, promote your company, school, studio, and for your creative work to be seen by Arizona audiances.
We do not charge dance companies a concert performance fee. We (Golden Lion Productions) incure all the production expenses and for that reason we depend on ticket sales, occasional grants, and donations from generous individuals. This helps to pay for a portion of the production cost of these concert series.We take great effort in promoting these concerts in local newspapers, magazines, online listings, radio, and television at no cost to you. All selected performing companies and solo dancer's names, photos, and contact information are listed in the concert program and on our website at no charge.
Once your work is selected, your company/dancers must be available to perform for at least one of the concert dates listed above and available for each tech day. All performances are on volunteer basis. You may submit your work either by mailing us a video of the dance piece/s for consideration or present your dance piece/s live during the auditions held on Saturday, March 1, 2008. All dance styles are considered and welcomed.
LIVE AUDITION: Entries/auditions for 2008 are complete. -You may present between 1-3 dance pieces during the audition. If you have more than 3 pieces for us to consider, audition your three peices and submit the rest on video (you can bring your additional dance pieces on video that same day. See video submission info below. -To make an audition appointment, contact us by email or phone: give us your name, company name, phone number, how many dance pieces you will present on that day, and time slot you desire (select from 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, or 5:00pm) your dance pieces will be seen within the hour you select IF audition day runs on schedule. -Audition in costume/wardrobe, proper dance shoes, and bring your performance music/CD with you. -Each dance piece must be between 3-5 minutes (may be less, but no more than 5min.). Reason for time limit is to be able to present 20-24 dance pieces within the 2 hour concert format (including intermission). These concerts are also designed to allow the evening to flow in an exciting pace, and to give our audiance a sample of the diverse dance styles that we represent in our communities here in Arizona, and an exciting look at your creative work and your company. -Open to dancers of all ages (minimum age is 16). -Auditions are open to all advance, strong, artistic, creative, and impressive dancers and performing companies. -Click here for: Audition Flyer
